In my encounters with camels, I experience time and again how much we humans try to convince with words - in conversations with animals as well as in meetings or customer appointments. But camels don't respond to arguments, they respond to presence. This is a quiet but powerful lesson for our everyday (business) lives.

When words no longer help

Many participants only realise how much they cling to language when they come into contact with the camel: explaining, arguing, placating. But the animal stands still, looks away or doesn't go along. In these moments, I invite them to pause for a moment: How am I standing right now? How am I breathing? What am I radiating? What do I really want to achieve?

It's about taking yourself seriously. Only when I am clear inside can my message get through - to the camel as well as to people.

Presence instead of arguments

Camels do not react to our words, but to our presence. They sense whether we are really with ourselves, whether our body is clear, grounded and authentic. As soon as we stop talking and start being there with our whole being, something changes: the camel becomes more attentive, more cooperative, the connection becomes tangible.

This experience is often more effective than any theoretical exercise because the feedback from the animal is immediate and unadulterated.

Transfer to everyday (business) life

It's similar in professional life: colleagues, customers or employees can sense whether we are really present. Whether our body language matches what we say. Trust and impact are not created by perfectly formulated arguments, but by a coherent charisma and inner attitude.

Anyone who has learnt to be clear and at the same time appreciative with a camel automatically takes this skill with them into meetings, negotiations and difficult conversations.

My impulse for your next conversation

Before your next conversation - whether in the office, in a meeting or in private - take a moment to come back to yourself. Feel the ground beneath your feet, take a deep breath. Lower your shoulders, straighten up without tensing up. Simply be present before you speak.

You will realise: It's not the words alone that create connection and trust, but your inner attitude and charisma. This is the silent lesson that a camel can teach us - and which often makes all the difference in everyday (business) life.
